LA Watts Summer Games

GET READY FOR THE FUN - THE 2011 GAMES ARE IN THE WORKS!

The mission of the L.A. Watts Summer Games is to build bridges of understanding among high school youth. The Games strive to promote positive interaction, respect and achievement through spirited competition in athletics.

The Games were started in 1968 as a response to the 1965 Watts Riots and consists of 17 boys and girls athletic events.

Like so many organizations throughout the global non-profit community, the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce is really feeling the impact of the recession. The LAJCC is forced to  postpone hosting the 43rd annual L.A Watts Summer Games due to lack of funding -- and is taking bold, positive steps toward launching a revamped LA Watts Summer Games program for 2011.
